Description

Broken-Egg Processing

Separate Residual Egg Liquid from Crushed Eggshells

The OVOWELL eggshell and liquid separator system connects to an egg-breaking line to receive crushed shells, move them by screw conveyor, separate residual egg liquid by centrifugal action and discharge the two output streams. The final arrangement is reviewed against breaker capacity, feed height, floor layout, cleaning requirements and downstream handling.

What the System Separates

This equipment handles broken eggshells with residual egg liquid after an egg-breaking process. Its role should not be confused with yolk and egg-white separation.

Input Material

Crushed or broken eggshells carrying residual liquid from the outlet of an upstream egg-breaking machine.

Shell Output

Eggshell material is crushed, centrifuged and discharged for the plant's selected downstream shell-handling route.

Liquid Output

Residual egg liquid separated from the shells leaves through an independent discharge for controlled downstream handling.

Process Boundary

The system does not grade whole eggs or separate yolk from egg white. Upstream breaking and downstream product handling remain separate process steps.

No fixed liquid recovery percentage is stated. Actual output depends on the incoming shell condition, upstream breaking process, operating setup and the complete line arrangement.

From Egg Breaker to Separate Discharge

The configuration coordinates material transfer, centrifugal separation and controlled discharge rather than treating the centrifuge as an isolated machine.

1. Receive shells

Mixed eggshell and residual liquid leaves the egg-breaking machine and enters the transfer point.

Confirm breaker outlet height, direction and peak input.

2. Screw conveying

A 304 stainless steel screw conveyor transfers the shell material toward the centrifugal separator.

Match conveyor length and feed height to the actual layout.

3. Crush and distribute

The separator further breaks and distributes the shells through its screw and screen arrangement.

Input consistency affects the configured operating setup.

4. Centrifugal separation

Centrifugal action moves residual liquid away from the shell material through the mesh-screen section.

Cleaning access and screen maintenance must be planned.

5. Separate discharge

Eggshell and separated liquid leave through independent outlets under centralized control.

Confirm both downstream destinations before layout approval.

Reference System Configuration

The values below come from a quoted project configuration. Final quantities, dimensions and line capacity must be confirmed for each installation.

System section Confirmed reference Project decision
Screw conveyor 304 stainless steel; reference dimension 2200 x 700 x 2100 mm Feed height, transfer distance and connection to the egg breaker
Centrifugal separator 80,000 eggs/hour single-machine reference; dual-speed screw and mesh-screen arrangement Number of units, input condition, discharge direction and access
Quoted complete system One screw conveyor, three separator units and one control cabinet; 160,000 eggs/hour quoted system reference System balance must be reviewed rather than multiplying single-unit capacity
Control cabinet Independent waterproof cabinet structure with Schneider electrical components and push buttons Voltage, control location, interlocks and upstream/downstream signals
Construction 304 stainless steel stated for conveyor and separator Confirm final contact-part scope and surface-finish requirements

Confirmed Component Reference

Bearings and Seals

The reference configuration identifies IKO and NSK bearings and UKS seals. The final bill of materials should be confirmed before order.

Pump and Cooling

The reference identifies a FLOJET pump and an automatic cooling arrangement for the bearing-lubrication assembly.

Wear Parts

Available reference spares include belts, bearings, seals, screws, a motor, hydraulic radiator unit and centrifuge screen.

Control Scope

The independent cabinet centralizes the supplied system. Interface signals to the breaker and downstream equipment are confirmed per project.

Information Needed for Line Integration

Selection point Information to provide Why it matters
Production load Normal and peak eggs per hour from the breaking line Separator quantity and system balance
Incoming material Shell size, liquid content, feed consistency and photos or video Transfer and separation review
Upstream interface Breaker model, outlet size, height and direction Conveyor inlet and transfer geometry
Layout Floor plan, ceiling height, access route and preferred discharge direction Equipment arrangement and maintenance clearance
Cleaning Plant cleaning method, water points, drainage and sanitation requirements Access, material scope and operating procedure
Outputs Destination of separated liquid and discharged shell material Outlet position and downstream connections
Utilities and control Voltage, frequency and required line interlocks Control cabinet and integration scope

Cleaning and Maintenance Boundaries

  • Define cleaning access around the screw conveyor, separator and discharge points.
  • Confirm how the screen and internal product-contact areas will be inspected and cleaned.
  • Keep a project-specific wear-parts list for belts, bearings, seals, screws and screen components.
  • Plan safe isolation before internal inspection, cleaning or maintenance.
  • Do not assume a CIP function unless it is included in the approved project scope.
  • Apply the egg-processing plant's own food-safety controls to any separated liquid stream.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this an egg yolk and egg-white separator?

No. This system handles broken eggshells and the residual liquid remaining on those shells after egg breaking. Yolk and egg-white separation is a different process.

What is the reference capacity?

The source quotation identifies 80,000 eggs/hour for one centrifugal separator and 160,000 eggs/hour for the quoted complete system. Final capacity must be reviewed with the upstream breaker, material condition and selected system arrangement.

Can it connect to an existing egg-breaking machine?

It can be configured as a downstream system after layout review. Send the breaker outlet size, height, direction, peak capacity and photos or drawings so the transfer point can be checked.

Is the separated egg liquid automatically suitable for food production?

The machine separates residual liquid from shells, but downstream use depends on the plant's raw-material controls, hygiene procedures, quality checks and local requirements. The equipment page does not make a food-suitability guarantee.

Does the system include automatic cleaning?

No automatic or CIP cleaning function is assumed in this reference. Send the plant cleaning procedure, water and drainage conditions so cleaning access and any requested options can be reviewed.

What should be sent before quotation?

Send eggs per hour, breaker outlet details, shell-condition photos or video, floor plan, feed height, both discharge destinations, cleaning method, voltage and required control interfaces.
