80GHz Radar Level Measurement for Feed Silos

The OVOWELL 80GHz radar level meter provides non-contact level measurement for feed silos and selected bulk-material vessels. The sensor is reviewed for top mounting, vessel geometry, material behavior, dust, condensation, temperature, pressure, process connection and control-system integration. Final accuracy and operating limits depend on the selected model and installation.

How Radar Level Measurement Works

A top-mounted radar sensor sends a signal toward the material surface and receives the reflected echo. The instrument estimates the distance to the surface, then the control system converts that distance into level using the vessel reference height and calibration points.

Non-Contact Signal

The sensor stays above the material, so there is no probe moving through feed, grain or other bulk solids.
